Terms of Use

By creating an account or using Study Clutch (“the Service”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Study Clutch. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

Study Clutch is an AI-powered study tool that allows users to generate notes, flashcards, quizzes and transcripts from audio recordings, PDF documents, text input and YouTube videos. The Service is provided as-is and may be updated, modified or discontinued at any time.

To access the Service you must create an account using Google, Apple or an email address. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Providing accurate and up-to-date information
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

You agree to use Study Clutch only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not:

• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, or infringes on intellectual property rights
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape or extract data from the Service
• Use the Service to generate content intended to deceive or mislead others
• Share your account credentials with others or allow multiple users to access the Service through a single account
• Use automated tools or bots to access or interact with the Service

Your content. You retain ownership of any content you upload to Study Clutch, including audio recordings, documents and text. By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

Our content. All software, design, trademarks and other intellectual property belonging to Study Clutch remain our exclusive property. You may not reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

AI-generated content. Notes, flashcards and quizzes generated by the Service are provided for personal study use only. We make no warranty as to the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated content.

Study Clutch offers a free plan and a paid Pro subscription. By subscribing to Pro you agree to the following:

• Subscriptions are billed in advance on a weekly or yearly basis depending on your chosen plan
• Payments are processed securely through our payment provider and are non-refundable except where required by law
• Your subscription will renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled
• We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice

We may offer a free trial period for the Pro subscription. At the end of the trial period, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends. You will not be charged during the trial period. Only one free trial is permitted per user.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will continue to have access to Pro features until that period expires. We do not provide refunds for unused portions of a billing period.

If you purchased your subscription through Stripe, you can manage or cancel it by:

• Opening your Study Clutch account
• Going to Settings
• Selecting Manage Subscription
• Cancelling through the Stripe billing portal

If you purchased your subscription through Apple, you must manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple subscription settings on your device or App Store account.

We may also offer the ability to pause subscriptions for a limited period of time. Availability and conditions of pause features may change at any time.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components. AI-generated content is provided for informational and study purposes only — it should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional advice or verified academic sources.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Study Clutch shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice within the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you must stop using the Service.

Because Study Clutch provides immediate access to digital services and AI-generated content, refunds are generally not provided for accounts that have actively used the Service after purchase, including generating notes, flashcards, quizzes, transcripts or other study materials. If you believe you were charged in error or experienced a technical issue, you may request a refund review by contacting hello@studyclutch.com. Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis in accordance with applicable U.S. consumer protection laws and platform policies. We reserve the right to deny refund requests in cases of abuse, excessive usage, policy violations or repeated refund attempts.
