Study Clutch (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates the Study Clutch web application and iOS app (the “Service”). This policy applies to all users of the Service and describes how we handle personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

We collect the following categories of data when you use the Service:

• Account data — when you sign up we collect your name, email address and profile photo from your chosen authentication provider (Google or Apple).
• Usage data — we collect information about how you use the Service, including pages visited, features used and session duration. This helps us understand how the Service is used and where we can improve.
• User content — any files you upload to generate study materials, including audio recordings, PDF documents, pasted text and YouTube links. This content is processed solely to provide the Service to you.
• Payment data — billing and payment information collected when you subscribe to Pro. Payment details are processed directly by our payment provider and are not stored on our servers.
• Device data — technical information about the device and connection you use to access the Service, including IP address, browser type and operating system. This is used for security and troubleshooting purposes.

We use your data only for the purposes described below:

• To provide, maintain and improve the Service
• To process your uploaded content and generate AI-powered study materials
• To manage your account and subscription
• To send important service notifications and updates
• To ensure the security and integrity of the Service
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not use your content to train AI models. Your uploaded files are processed solely to generate your study materials and are not used for any other purpose.

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with trusted third parties only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers — payment processors, cloud hosting providers and analytics tools that help us operate the Service
• AI processing — your content is processed by AI infrastructure providers under strict data processing agreements
• Legal requirements — when required by law, court order or governmental authority
• Business transfers — in the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred to the acquiring entity

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes. Uploaded content is deleted from our processing infrastructure immediately after your study materials are generated.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
• Erasure — request deletion of your personal data
• Portability — request a machine-readable copy of your data
• Objection — object to processing of your data in certain circumstances
